so...a random gem/crystal in some random empty cave all by itself that can TALK is completely trust worthy to just say whatever it asks you too say? i mean, at least question it! see if its story checks out,or take it with you and say "im not totally sure about this, let me take you with me and ill see if i can get some help". then if it refuses that, then something must be up (cause it aint going anywhere, itll be desperate too leave the cave). id threaten too leave its butt there if it said now anyway. then ill know for sure if something is up or not...then again having years of experience in this field may have something too do with it, but it truly feels like common sense. dont get me wrong,im not saying twi is totally at fault, both of them are in this case. its just one needs a healthy dose of skepticism sometimes... well im not 100% sure on how magic is taught in equestria, but isnt it like part of magic 101 that if its magical in anyway make sure its its not evil or trying too kill/manipulate you in anyway? cause magical enchantments and items can kinda do that...figured that would be something you learn in magic school...hahaha P:
you did the right thing, and you should be proud, besides, ask yourself, if the genie/crystal had asked honestly, and there truly was no other way, would you have turned them down? A pony trapped, and alone for over a thousand years, crying out in pain for mercy they know they can not expect another to give them, a hopeless plea in the night, you would not have turned that down Twilight, you are the shimmering skies that guide the broken traveler the last few feet to home.
Aaaaaand development! Don't worry Twilight, anyone who would want to do kind to others would do the same! I know I would have fallen for it. However, did you ever find out what the crystal ACTUALLY was? Because it wasn't a pony trapped by Sombra...
