Hey I don't know whether you care or even if you get the chance to read this but i made a vid for your game www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCkF5V… just wanted to send in case you were interested and wanted to check it out
THE HAT AND CAPE ARE A LIE! I see what you've done here mister. It took me a few play-throughs, but I figured it out! Shame on you, using the allure of finding her hat and cape, making it worth 200 points, to lure us back in to play again and again in a desperate attempt to find it even though it doesn't exist in the game. Your ruse would makes Discord proud and Fluttershy cry. Shame on you for making Fluttershy cry! <_<
Not unless he has added it in in the... almost 5 months, since I made the comment. At the time, I began to wonder about the hat and cape, so I went and looked through all his deviations. There were no scenes for finding either the hat or cape, they simply didn't exist.
No, it's a dick move. This is a choose your own adventure type thing. You are presented with choices, and what you choose to do, affects the story. There should be a choice branch that will eventually lead you to the hat, which would then be with you the rest of the journey. the whole thing goes against the games very core design.
Now it would be different if he had seeded several such links through the game, or hinted at it somehow in the game, because then their would be a premise for it. This is right up there with having to switch controller ports when fighting that annoying Metal Gear Solid boss, but at least in MGS it made a bit of sense because of the whole reading thoughts thing.
The contradiction is to say you do not want to be rude, and then say "this is by far the dumbest thing I have ever participated in in my life". You left no constructive criticism, no reason at all why you disliked it. It is fine to have a different opinion, but unless you care to point out why you see it as such then keep your silence.
These types of "pick and click games" are virtually impossible to get right, and with all the inane pointing grades for game over and karma choices, I just find it completely unwinnable without cheating. :I
There is no "right" for these, the game-overs are for fun, you are supposed to enjoy every "failure". As far as winning is concerned, that is just a "Pick You Adventure" thing, you play multiple times to "win". The points are rather easy, keep a notepad and calculator open.
I really enjoyed this game. A non spoiler tip to new players, don't give up on this game or lose hope when you get game overs, because you will get quite a few. I got 9 on my first playthrough and still won the game with a very good score.
This game is spectacular!! I've always loved "choose your own destiny" stories and this one was brilliant... even if I didn't do so brilliantly at it Totally playing this again Loved it!! Magnificent work!! You're awesome!!
Here is a practical question for clarification (which you may want to add to the rules).
Hypothetical situation (which isn't really that hypothetical at all): I get a 'game over' and I'm forced to go back to the previous page. The previous page told me to 'gain +1 karma'. Do I retake that +1 karma, or do I just go directly to the choices below the events of the description/text to make my different choice?
I ask this because I can see this being a problem if the previous page gives unique items, but with if the previous page gives karma or bits, then the extra karma/bits could be like a consolation prize for getting a 'game over'. I realize that if someone wanted to get a GIANT bunch of karma then they could keep doing this, but they would have to keep getting a GIANT bunch of 'game over' too. That was the way you planed it, right? So it balances out?
